Application procedure
If you wish to join our team of linguists (translators, proofreaders, editors, etc.), please submit your most recent CV to jobs@alkemist.si. In order to make the onboarding process as smooth as possible, please indicate the following:
- CAT tools you use
- relevant experience
- fields of expertise
- your degree (submit a copy if possible)
- any additional qualifications (e.g. if you are a court interpreter)
Our Vendor Manager will get back to you as soon as possible with further instructions.
Testing procedure
In order to ensure the quality of the translations, we always test
potential
candidates. You will be tested for the language combinations and fields
of
your choice.
It is really important that you submit your test translation on time and
that you proofread it before delivery. Test translations not delivered
on
time and those that include basic spelling mistakes (typos) will
automatically be labelled as a fail. Please do not offer multiple
solutions
in the test translation – we consider the ability to make a professional
choice of terminology and translation solutions a sign of a quality
translator.
The test translations are sent to professional translators who are
native
speakers of the target language. This ensures the highest level of
quality
check. Please note that the average time for reviewing the test
translations
is 2-4 weeks.
Be aware that only 12% of candidates pass our testing procedure.
Agreements
After passing the test translation, we will contact you to fill out your data in our platform, after which the system will generate the Agreements for you to sign. After you’ve signed the agreements, your profile will become active and we can start collaborating :)
